Google Business Profile checklist for kitchen & bath remodelers
Your Google Business Profile is one of the most widely read sources about your company, by homeowners and by the AI tools that answer their questions. Here's the checklist we use in audits.
Categories
- Pick the most specific primary category that matches your main work, such as "Kitchen remodeler" or "Bathroom remodeler", rather than a broad one like "General contractor".
- Add secondary categories only for work you actually do.
Services and description
- List each service individually: kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling, cabinet installation, countertops, tub-to-shower conversions and so on.
- Write a description that says plainly what you do and where. Skip the slogans.
Service area and contact details
- Set your service area to the cities and counties you really cover.
- Make sure your business name, phone and website match exactly what's on your site and other directories.
- Search for duplicate listings of your business. Duplicates split your reviews and confuse everyone.
Photos
- Upload real before-and-after photos of your own projects, and add new ones as jobs finish.
Reviews
- Ask every happy client, soon after the job wraps. A steady flow beats a burst.
- Reply to reviews, good and bad, briefly and professionally.
- Never buy or fake reviews. It breaks platform rules and can get your profile suspended.
Keep it current
- Update hours, holidays and services when they change.
- Answer common questions in the Q&A section if it's available to you.
